Joseph Gaston

Joseph Gaston was born in Santo Domingo, D.R. As art enthusiast and through the influence of urban art, he began painting at the age of 14, studying forms and compositions with colleague artist friends such as Jonas Muvdi in the Dominican Republic. After establishing his residential status in the U.S., he continued his pursue for the arts under the teachings, guidance and encouragement of art professor Paul Brown at John Jay College. Transferring to The City College of New York afterward, he gained more fundamental knowledge in color theory, composition and form. Moreover, adding to his academicals art studies, he has developed skills as a Recycling-Art sculptor and mixed-media artist, while focusing and keeping the main objective of his work based on urban art for the present.
