Jose Parra

Painter

José ‘Artie’ Parra, was born in Santiago, the second main city of the Dominican Republic. He has been incorporated into the world of arts since 1997. Although he has participated in numerous collective and individually exhibitions, Parra strongly continues strengthening his artistic endeavors through formal academicals art studies at The Student League of New York, and currently attending classes there under the supervision of art professor, Barbara Adria. Besides that, to maintain a growing pace on his career, he presently organizes artistic workshops for which he groups with other colleague artists such as Ramón Peralta, Persio Minier, Ismael Checo, and Chiqui Mendoza. Up until now, he's a committed and active founder member of the Alliance of Dominican American visual Artists (ADAVA).
