Freddy Polanco
Photography
Primarily is a photographer whose influential guidance from his family's background on the subjects of photography and painting has been embedded in his photographic discipline all along throughout the beginning of his lifework to this very date. Having been born in Santiago de Los Caballeros of the Dominican Republic, it was also an early boost for his photogenic career, given the fact that the circle of his artsy-craftsy family were rooted in such a Dominican province.
This gave way to a wide range of mentorship, which he had access at the early stages of his artistic pursuit from peers, and as well as family members such as Narciso Polanco, a professional photographer too. His photographic oeuvre identifies itself from an altruistic perspective with the human spirit in general e.g., emotions such as the tender look on an infant and humanistic reflection: such as the portrait of an elder's timeless wrinkles, adding yet environmental conditions, cultural and psychological expression.
Mr. Polanco has exhibited his works in numerous places such as: Uptown Art Stroll 2007, New York City; Group exhibit Photo Group, Rivera Gallery, NY 2002; Fotografica Encuentro, Cusco, Perú 2004; The Space Gallery at Russ Berrie Medical Science Pavilion, Columbia University in New York City; ADAVARTE II/The Visual Arts Festival of Washington Heights-Inwood; Homenaje a la Ancianidad, Santiago, D.R. just to name a few.
